The Importance Of Establishing Certification Standards For Search Engine Positioning Training
New generation search engines are an evolving breed and it’s quite a challenge to come up with strategies for effective web site promotion and marketing. The search engine submissions made today require skilled professionals who can keep up with the changing trends in search engine optimization. When carried out by certified professionals , submissions will result in significant search engine rankings for personal or business websites.
Web certification standards play an important role in search engine submissions especially as they are stringent about only qualifying a search engine placement service which guarantees top 10 search engine placements. CERTIFICATION STANDARDS
This section only applies to those who have already taken an instructor led-workshop, with weekly interaction either at the basic or advanced level.
Students who have previously enrolled in our web-based search engine training courses (whether offered individually or as part of a Combo Package) and successfully complete the course of study are entitled to earn certification. They obtain a Continuing Education Credit (2.4 Continuing Education Credits are awarded), an official college transcript, a certificate of completion from Coastal Carolina University and a digital graphic worded to show that the workshop enrolled in has been successfully completed. Your instructor will provide you with the necessary processing information.
The standards set for search engine certification are rigorous and require that you meet the standards established by Coastal Carolina University and JER Group, Inc. Generally, for web placement and positioning certification, you need to meet the following criteria:.
1. Taken and completed a course of study.
2. Posted in forums as directed by your course instructor.
3. Attended and participated in chat room sessions.
4. Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge by providing proper feedback to instructor and classmates.
5. Demonstrated proficiency by online critique and self-critique of your optimized website
BASIC CERTIFICATION (4 Week-6 Week Workshops)
Basic certification covers web positioning and optimization. It is for those who enroll in our 4 and 6 week, facilitator led search engine workshops.
Certification is awarded by the instructor on successfully passing the course and receiving a satisfactory grade. He will provide you with certification information and materials.
MASTER CERTIFICATION (Advanced Workshops)
Master Certification can be achieved by taking either of our two advanced workshops as part of a Combo Package. These are facilitator-led and certification is awarded by your instructor on successful completion of the lessons and the requirements of the course. Your instructor will provide will provide you with further certification information and materials.

CERTIFICATION STANDARDS
Have you sought Basic Certification? Purchased a self-directed tutorial or enrolled in a class not offered through our company or seek certification based on your search engine training and experience alone? If your answer is yes, then read on to see how we can help you achieve the Certification you covet.
If you have not taken a facilitator-led workshop but have purchased a self-directed tutorial or e-book or other non-facilitator led workshop you cannot receive certification. You must apply for it and if you pass the requirements as described below you will receive Basic Search Engine Certification.
How do I become Search Engine Positioning and Web Placement Certified?
To earn basic certification students are required to demonstrate their ability to:
1. Develop effective keyword and keyword phrases and compare these to a competitors’ websites. You will be required to be able to clearly differentiate how your site differs from that of your competitors.
2. Create an outstanding title and description and describe why it will attract visitors who want to navigate your site; you must also develop a succinct rationale as to why the site title and description meets the expectations of the search engines.
3. Place keywords for maximum relevancy through META keyword tag, META description tag, ALT tag, and through other overall strategies according to the algorithms of the different major search engines.
4. Be able to recognize problems created by frames, JavaScript and provide a revised strategy as to what other courses of action you would take.
5. Submit a content-rich information page optimized for AltaVista that is ready for submission and discuss what techniques learnt in this course have been applied.
6. Articulate what advanced strategies are useful in preparing to market your web site, such as utilizing multiple domains to create themes, etc.
The candidate for certification will be asked to provide evidence of knowledge regarding any concepts, techniques or tactics that are in current practice or identify and discuss application of information based on the 3rd generation theme search engines.
Basic Certification--Track 1
ADVANCED CERTIFICATION STANDARDS
Read this if you have taken a Workshop beyond the Basic level, have enrolled in an Advanced class not offered through our company or seek Advanced Optimizer Search Engine Certification based on your search engine training and experience alone
For some students who have taken an Advanced Workshop the choice to seek a higher level certification can be undertaken.
How do I become Advanced Optimizer Level?
As in the basic workshops you will need to go through the entire search engine workshop and tutorial sequence noted below. In addition we require that you demonstrate a level of proficiency to such a degree that the outcomes of the course are measurable in terms of (1) learning, (2) behavior and (3) actual tangible results. We are only able to assess the Learning that has taken place but stress that Behavior and Results are also important aspects to be monitored and assessed by yourself.
To earn Advanced Certification and continuing education credits (CEUs), students are required to demonstrate their ability to:
1. Deliver a project that will comprise of five(5) content-rich doorway pages.
2. Each page will have a different keyword and all pages optimized for one search engine of choice or all pages optimized for different search engines of choice.
3. Develop a standalone hallway (sitemap) that is an "orphan" page, for the search engine of choice, containing the doorway pages optimized for that particular engine. Submit the site map page only to that one engine. Or, do a sitemap that is like a table of contents listing the five doorways optimized for different search engines with a visible link on homepage.
The candidate for certification will be asked to provide written evidence of knowledge regarding any concepts, techniques or tactics that are in current practice or identify and discuss application of information based on the 3rd generation theme search engines.
As it pertains to behavior and results, these are self-monitored but are important indicators of successful completion and certification status.
Behavior (self-monitored)--As a result of this course you now have the capability to make a difference in whatever type of business enterprise you are engaged in.
Results (self monitored)--The final results mean that as a result of your Advanced study you have been able to affect sales, costs and profits with a positive bottom line being achieved.
